As we near the end of the 2021 football season, it’s time to shift our focus to the next crop of young talent. The class of 2022 features some of the best football recruits in recent history, and college programs all over the country are scrambling to secure commitments from these gifted athletes. Here are some of the top football recruits to watch out for in the class of 2022.

1. Quinn Ewers – QB, Southlake Carroll High School
Quinn Ewers is easily the most highly-touted prospect in the class of 2022. The Texas native is a quarterback prodigy who has been compared to former NFL greats like Andrew Luck and Peyton Manning. Ewers has already committed to Ohio State, and Buckeyes fans can’t wait to see what he can do at the next level.

2. Shemar Stewart – DE, Monsignor Pace High School
Shemar Stewart is an absolute monster on the defensive line. The Florida native has a rare combination of size, speed, and strength that has made him one of the most sought-after recruits in the country. Stewart has offers from just about every major program in the country, but Miami seems to be the current frontrunner to land him.

3. Travis Hunter – WR/CB, Collins Hill High School
Travis Hunter is a true two-way player who can dominate on offense and defense. The Georgia native is a dynamic wide receiver with incredible leaping ability, but he’s also a shutdown corner who can neutralize some of the top receivers in the country. Hunter has already committed to Florida State, and he’s expected to be a major contributor right away.

4. Lebbeus Overton – DE, Milton High School
Lebbeus Overton is another defensive end who has been turning heads all over the country. The Georgia native has a rare combination of size, speed, and athleticism that has made him one of the most feared pass rushers in the country. Overton has a long list of suitors, but Clemson is currently at the top of his list.

5. Arch Manning – QB, Isidore Newman School
Arch Manning is the latest member of the Manning dynasty, and he looks like he’s poised to be the best of the bunch. The Louisiana native is a quarterback with a great arm and a great football IQ. He’s the type of player who can make something happen out of nothing, and he’s already drawing comparisons to his uncle, Peyton Manning. Manning has yet to commit to a college, but he’s expected to have his pick of just about any program in the country.

These are just a few of the many talented football recruits in the class of 2022. It’s going to be fascinating to see where these young athletes end up, and how they develop at the college level. One thing is for certain – college football is in good hands for years to come.
